1. Fundamental 3D and Digital compositing principles
2. Watch the lecture video:

Fig. 1.1 / Composition in Art

Composition is the term used to describe the arrangement of visual elements (line, shape, colour, value, texture, form, and space—are organized or composed according to the principles of art and design).

Fig. 1.2 / Unity

a. Unity
Do all the parts of the composition feel as if they belong together Unity in an artwork creates a sense of harmony and wholeness, by using similar elements within the composition and placing them in a way that brings them all together (Variety adds interest by using contrasting elements within the composition).

Fig. 1.3 / Balance

b.  Balance
The sense that the composition "feels right" and not heavier on one side.
Having a symmetrical arrangement adds a sense of calm, whereas an asymmetrical arrangement creates a more dynamic feeling.

Fig. 1.4 / Movement

c. Movement
Ways to give a sense of movement in a composition: the arrangement of objects, the position of figures, and the flow of a river.

Fig. 1.5 / Rhythm

d. Rhythm
In much the same way music does, a piece of art can have a rhythm or underlying beat that leads your eye to view the artwork at a certain pace.

Fig. 1.6 / Focus

e. Focus (emphasis)
The viewer's eye ultimately wants to rest on the "most important" thing or focal point in the painting, otherwise the eye feels lost, wandering around in space

Fig. 1.7 / Contrast

f. Contrast
Composition with high contrast—strong differences between light and dark, for example—have a different feel than paintings with minimal contrast in light and dark.

Principles of Form and Design
Fig. 1.8 / Principles of Form and Design

Sir wanted us to become the concept artists, not the designers. Becoming a concept artist (Art Director) is harder than a designer.

PRACTICAL:
1. Compositing Software Interface.
2. Exercise technical and design exploration.
3. PROJECT 1 - ASSIGN Task 1: Technical and Motion Graphics Sensibilities.

Then Mr. Fauzi gave us a bit tutorial for Null object 3D.

WEEK 4 / 21.09.2023

LECTURE:
1. Kinetic Typography Fundamentals.
2. Watch the lecture video:

After showing our progress for feedback, Mr. Fauzi wanted us to continue to our project 1B.

WEEK 4 / 21.09.2023
This week, I did a revision on the focus part.

Fig. 2.5 / Focus 2

Then I'm looking at the music I want to do the motion graphics and composition.
I chose Yoasobi - Monster.

WEEK 5 / 28.09.2023
I started to do the project 1B. I try to combine and play with all the compositions.

Fig. 2.6 / Combine

Then I export it to Premiere Pro for the title and my name.

Fig. 2.7 / Touch up

I think I'm quite satisfied with my result as a beginner.

FEEDBACK

WEEK 3 / 14.09.2023
- can do more on the focus part

WEEK 6 / 05.20.2023
It's a good one.
- Try to make a looping system. The purpose is for people can watch more than one time.

NEXT COURSE OF ACTION

WEEK 3 / 14.09.2023
- do the project 1

WEEK 6 / 05.20.2023
- Do project 2

REFLECTION

I enjoyed on this project 1. I learned a lot from Mr. Fauzi about how the industry works. I really need to rename and group it very clearly as an industry standard. A simple animation when I compile it everything can look complicated. I realised also that later on in the industry, we might only do a little bit or maybe we do it together with other people. So we need to stick to the art direction.
