WEEK 1 / 30.08.2022

INTRODUCTION
This week, Mr Kamal briefed us about the module and the projects that we will do. He also told us to download Adobe Animate. He recommends books that we can read (The illusion of life & the animator's survival kit). For the 2D background software, he usually used Krita, Photoshop, & Sketchbook. Next, he explained to us about the exercises and projects.

PRACTICAL

WEEK 2 / 08.09.2022

This we have an exercise. But before we try the exercise, Mr Kamall reminded us about the physical properties (weight).
Weight:
a. Light - Active & more bounce (Ping pong)
b. Moderate - Normal (Soccer ball)
c. Heavy - Fast less bounce (Bowling)

Week 2 lecture - Timing, Spacing, Slow in and out, and Arc. Before doing the exercise, I try to familiarize myself with Adobe Animate and it was fun even though my work still so ugly.

First, I drew the soccer ball first to remind myself that this thing is a soccer ball, so it's not that bouncy compared to a ping-pong ball.

Second, I make a background, line, and arc. Then I tried with Mr Kamall's instructions.

Here is my first attempt. I tried to rotate the soccer but seems not really affect the animation. I don't know if my rotate not that enough or if it is not that affected.

WEEK 3 / 15.09.2022

This week, we make the animation of a ball again but with a tail. First, animate the ball with stretching.

Next, add a tail. The tail is moving in connected arcs to get a nice flowing action.

FEEDBACK

WEEK 10 / 03.11.2022
- (Ex 1) The end of the ball the timing is a bit too rush.
- (Ex 2) You can make the timing more interesting by a slowdown/ hanging time when the ball reaches the climax position, like music. Some of the tail looks a bit rigid, which can make them looser because of gravity.
- (Ex 3) Looks good, the timing is ok. Only the shape looks a bit weird but it's alright.
- (Ex 4) For the shape form, the belly part can do better by detailing the indentation.


REFLECTION

In this exercise section, I've learned a lot of things starting with how to animate balls and basic forms with more clarity and detail. I feel animation requires patience, thoroughness, and fortitude, as well as a strong imagination. I am grateful to have taken this module with Mr Kamal. Mr Kamal patiently gave me useful feedback for me.
