LECTURES

WEEK 1 // 30.08.2022

INTRODUCTION
This week, Mr Rasif briefed us about modules and projects that we are going to have. He also briefed us about the software that we will use, which is adobe audition, bandlab.com

WEEK 2 // 06.09.2022

We were starting by downloading the files for the class exercise. What will we learn?

Nature of sound
How sound can be captured
How sound can be processed
Analyze and use it
How to convert to the digital world
Pro tools

Sounds are created by the vibration of an object, which causes the air surrounding it to vibrate.
Perception is a sound captured and translated by our brain.

There are 6 properties of sound
Pitch, Loudness, Timbre, Perceived duration, Envelope, and Spatialization

We also got a reminder to prepare our Task 2, make a story first. We can get free sound from this.

WEEK 3 // 13.09.2022

There are 5 typical steps that are used in sound design.
1. Layering
2. Time Stretching
3. Pitch Shifting
4. Reversing
5. Mouth it

PRACTICAL

WEEK 2 // 06.09.2022

EXERCISE 1
Today we try an exercise, Parametric Equalizer to familiarize ourselves with Adobe Audition. For me, I don't know because I'm not using headphones or because my ears are broken, it's really hard.

We edited 4 sounds and compared them with the original sound.

WEEK 3 // 13.09.2022

EXERCISE 2
Today we try an exercise to make a phone sound and mumble sound. We were given a sample voice and we edit it.

Mumbled Sound

WEEK 4 // 20.09.2022

#Explosion
First, we were given a jet sound. The lecturer teaches us to play with the graphic thing.

Fig. 2.10 / Jet sound, Week 4 (20.09.2022)

Then we try to make an explosion sound. Here is the original sound.

WEEK 7 // 11.10.2022
This week we have a full of tutorials on how to record our voice in a studio. We divided into groups and each group will have one interpreter to interpret one topic. Here are the topics.

<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kTFCldVqOGm_AGvQhL8fHyvCh8Ty6TYH/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

My group is group 2. We chose topic number 2, the cat show, and my friend will interpret it. We learn how to run the software, how to record, and how to export it.

Fig. 2.19 / Sound Studio, Week 7 (11.10.2022)

Here are our results. There are 3 sounds. The first one is good emotion but then there are some problems (the mouth did not speak directly to the mic and a lot of movement, afraid there was a sound from the clothes that he wear).

<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/10JRWr4GxkYbw1ENXma8GH2udqo6ZWWY3/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

The second is good too but a bit different variant.
<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SywSgfDCdElms6Jrp_QXAadqs_3D8DRe/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

And this is the last one, a different variant too.
<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fV6JmaDtiwRWL4c6EAa_JRMPjAiktYNv/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

Our lecturer wanted us to choose one of them and edit (put music or sound effects) to make it more real as a radio commercial.

Here is my progression.

WEEK 10 // 01.11.2022
This week, we need to record our voices in our room using our phones.

<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kEnIHbuuq1fh-i1qGqJp72BRV_HVNArG/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe>

Then I tried to edit it in the same editing in project 2. Here is my progress. I reduce the noise, reduce the breath sound, edit the eq and mastering.
