Netnography means that it requires us to be present at a place to do research, follow activities in an area, etc. While Netnography has almost the same meaning but is done online. The weakness is that there can be falsehoods in the data.
Week 2 / 01.08.2022
This week, Mr Asrizal gave us a briefing and an example of the proposal that we will make.

My part is Virtual Reality. It's kind of similar to the previous one but focus on the digital one. My previous sketch is used on miniature bands which are used with my other members. I tried to make a rough sketch on a mental canvas so Mr Vinod can see exactly our groups idea. Here are my references. Pink Floyd.
Here is my progress on Procreate.
This week, we showed our presentation slides to Mr Vinod. He said that the purpose or bridge between the idea and the medium itself needs to be improved. After that, we repaired our work and do the presentation recording. Here are our presentation slides.

LECTURES
Week 1 / 01.01.2022
Our facilitators for this module are Mr Asrizal, Dr Jinchi, Mr Vinod, and Ms Anis. Mr Asrizal started to brief us about Module Information Booklet (MIB). Mr Asrizal told us that this module provide us with studying the different cultures and learning different perspectives. Actually, we will have a field trip for this class, but because of the pandemic, it doesn't happen. He also briefed us about our upcoming assignments, weekly plan, and team/ group.
Mr Vinod: What is Culture?
Dr Jinchi:
It is basically a lifestyle or way of living of a group of people. So if you talk about the biggest social, we have mainstream culture. That also can be looked at in terms of traditions. However, when we talked about culture, I think what we normally have in our mind is traditional practices, going to the temple, the way we eat, the way we pray. But a lot of things can be resources. Within the classes, they will have their own 'culture'. In short, culture is the way people live and its dynamic.

Requirements
- The general theme is “Purpose”.
- In your group, select a particular culture in society and brainstorm to identify an area of interest you wish to highlight on or bring awareness/attention to that culture.
- Conduct some research about the culture and the specific area you have identified.
- Produce some preliminary ideas on how you will apply your knowledge and creativity in design to communicate your message to an audience. Each idea is to be supported by a short rationale. Conduct visual research to help expand your idea generation.
Submission 1 Digital Submission (in one PDF File) in TIMeS:
A deck presentation of the proposal that contains:
- A 200-word rationale defining and interpreting the theme in relation to the culture and area of interest. Citation is necessary as evidence to the research.
- A minimum of 5 preliminary ideas in detailed sketches, each with a rationale.
- Visual references (visuals that inspire/influence those ideas).
- Reference list
PRACTICAL
First of all, we create some groups for our project, our leader for each group, and our topic. Before we got our topic, one of my teammates suggests we write down our interests and we can have our topic based on our interests. First, we were confused between Music or Architecture. After we do poll, the result is:
Group 18 - Music Rock and Roll
Supervisor: Mr Vinod
Week 1 / 01.09.2022
We got our first meeting on Teams. We need to bring up 5 preliminary ideas in detailed sketches and each with a 200-word rationale. We divided our tasks, here is the progress.
Here is my progress.
My idea is we can make the miniature rock music band, either a digital project (mental canvas app) or a traditional project (physical miniature).
Week 2 / 01.12.2022
Today, we got our first feedback from Mr Vinod. We are not presenting all of our progress because our leader thinks that our purpose is not that clear. She said that we need to decide more on our purpose and the ideas. We have our meeting again about this. Our preliminary ideas are:
1. Fashion Line
2. Phone Cases

FEEDBACK
Feedback from Mr Vinod
Week 2 / 01.12.2022
- General Feedback:
For the submissions, make sure that after you submit the project presentation recording, everyone individually uploads it to their own personal youtube as well as present it on your blog by embedding it. - Specific Feedback:
When you think about the ideas, try to make sure that you keep the purpose in mind.
Week 3 / 01.20.2022
- General Feedback:
Embed the final post to our own individual blogs. Writing can help you become more creative. Make sure that your ideas are strong and solid and explain each idea purpose. - Specific Feedback:
Overall the ideas are good but the purpose or bridge between the idea and the medium itself needs to be improved.
Week 4 / 01.24.2022
- Specific Feedback:
Demonstrates an understanding of research methods, is resourceful and has a wide scope, yet focused. Evidence of brainstorming or idea exploration is implicit in the presentations and seems adequate. Effective written communication, clearly stating and justifying the selected theme, concept & approach of the research, supported by relevant citations.
REFLECTION
Experiences
At first, I was a bit surprised by this module because almost all of the assignments are based on group work. It took me a few weeks to adapt to group assignments. I was a little worried about the members, whether they were very passive and unable to cooperate. However, it turned out not to be the case, I am grateful that there are many members who are responsible and supportive
Observations
In this module, I am required to observe rock and roll, a genre that is foreign to me. However, I learned a lot about fashion, art or design, etc. about rock and roll in the '70s and '80s. I've also noticed that rock and roll isn't as bad and dark as I thought it would be

Findings
At first, I didn't really want the topic of rock and roll but because it was a decision of many parties I followed it. I found many things while doing research. How rock and roll originally came from the black gospel, etc. There is a meaning behind the sign of the horn. I've also found that rock and roll aren't as bad and dark as I thought it would be. I also find myself a bit more into rock and roll now.
