LECTURES
Week 4 / 09.13.2021
First of all, Mr Fauzi Yusoff opened with the Lecture section. In this section, he introduced the adjustment layer and filters. The explanation is as follows.
a. Adjustment Layer
With the adjustment layers, you can edit and discard your adjustments or restore your original image at any time. This will make your workflow in Photoshop more flexible, efficient and is an absolute must-know.

a.1. Brightness/ Contrast
Brightness/ Contrast makes adjustments to the tonal range of your image. The brightness slider is for adjusting the highlights in your image and the Contrast slider is for adjusting the shadows in your image.
a.2. Level
a.4. Exposure
a.2. Level
Levels modify the tonal values in an image by adjusting the levels of the shadows, mid-tones, and highlights. It’s one of the most used tools in the adjustment layer panel, and using just a touch of levels will go a long way in correcting your images.
a.3. Curves
Curves let you adjust as many points as you want throughout the entire tonal range of your image, and is the most powerful and precise tool for editing the tones in an image.

a.4. Exposure
Exposure lets you adjust exposure levels with three sliders: Exposure, Offset and Gamma. Exposure will adjust only the highlights of the image, Offset adjusts the mid-tones and Gamma will adjust the dark tones only.
a.5. Selective Colour
The Selective Color adjustment layer selectively modifies the amount of a primary colour without modifying the other primary colours in your image.

PRACTICAL
Week 4 / 09.13.2021
1. Attach your best composition from the WEEK 3 digital collage exercise below.2. Using the same Photoshop file, improvise your WEEK 3 digital collage into WEEK 4 by using Adjustment Layers & Filters on Photoshop.3. Explain what you’ve learned in the description section.
Actually, I'm not really good at this. I also didn't have any concept from the start. I just try and try as Mr Fauzi said "Play with it". In the first composition, I played with brightness/ contrast. I reduced the brightness (-37) and I increased the contrast (13). Second, I played with level (0; 0.92; 255). Third, I tried the gradient map (reverse).
Fig. 4.1 / Composition Editing#1, Week 4 (09.13.2021)
In the second composition, I tried to create something dreamy (blue-purple). First, I tried with the curves (I don't know how to explain this). Second, I played with hue/ saturation (Yellow_0; -10; -100 / Blue_-8; 13; -32). Last but not least, I tried the channel mixer (Red_100; 0; 0; 0 / Green_0; 100; 0; 0 / Blue_7; 7; 92; 2).
Fig. 4.2 / Composition Editing#2, Week 4 (09.13.2021)
Actually, I already like the original one so, in the third composition, I decided to not make a big difference. First, I tried the levels (0; 0.75; 255). Next, I played with selective colour (Red_100; 30; 0; 0 / Blacks_14; 10; 17; 4). I'm quite like the result. I think this is my favourite.
